City break in Budapest for ChristmasBudapest is actually two cities, Buda and Pest, separated by the Danube. The Christmas festivities centre around the breathtaking Vorosmarty Square in the heart of Pest. With Budapest’s Christmas market, there is an air of tradition about everything on sale.

Hand produced items using techniques handed down through generations make ideal gifts and decorations. The almost folkish festive atmosphere is further enhanced with an array of foods and drink including delicious honey cakes, strudels, pastry horns and fresh grilled chops all washed down with a mug of steaming mulled wine. The market is considered to be one of the greatest Christmas fairs in Europe.

Budapest Christmas Markets run throughout December.
